Renting a Vehicle in Rickmansworth
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire, you must be at least 21 years old, with specific age restrictions depending on the vehicle type. Drivers under 25 may incur additional fees. A valid full driving licence for the appropriate vehicle category is required, along with valid identification and proof of your current address. Payment details and a security deposit must be provided, along with any other requirements outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Options
- Reservations can be made through our website, by phone, or directly at our Rickmansworth office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. Full payment and a security deposit are usually required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds and include VAT as applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment platforms.
4. Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is your responsibility to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage without delay. A vehicle condition report will be created and signed at this time. The vehicle should be returned in the same condition as when collected, subject to normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated, and charges will apply accordingly. Ensure the vehicle is returned with the same fuel level as it had at pickup; refueling fees will be incurred if it is returned with less fuel. Late returns may lead to additional charges, so please inform us promptly if you expect a delay. You will be accountable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or charges accumulated during the rental period, in addition to an administration fee.
5. Liability and Coverage
- All car rentals include basic third-party insurance. The specifics of coverage and any applicable excess amounts are outlined in your Rental Agreement. You may opt for additional insurance options to lower your financial liability. Please review these options thoroughly. You will be responsible for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless you have additional coverage. Any damage resulting from negligence or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance.
Cancellation Policy and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies depend on the type of booking and the notice given. For detailed information, please check your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for any unlawful activities, including racing, off-roading, or other risky behaviors. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited. Subletting or permitting unauthorized drivers is not allowed. Driving under the influence of substances is strictly forbidden. The vehicle should only be used for its intended purpose, and passenger and weight limits must be adhered to. Driving outside designated geographical boundaries without permission is also prohibited.
Violation of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
8. Liability Limitations in Rickmansworth
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Rickmansworth will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims will not exceed the rental amount you paid in the past year.
